Tech Investment in Eastern Europe and Central Asia: March 2019

Crunchbase and East-West Digital News are teaming up to cover key tech and venture trends from Russia and neighboring countries in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. Since January 2019, EWDN chief editor Adrien Henni has offered a monthly column to highlight the most notable industry facts and trends as well as promising tech innovations from these countries.

The March review relates the “happy American ending” of Nginx, a global Russian-founded web server provider, which has been acquired by US leader F5 for $670 million. Also highlighted are the main deals of the month in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, the sad developments of the Baring Vostok case in Moscow as well as two new arrests that shocked the Russian tech business community.
