MegaFon revives OTT project

The Russian mobile operator MegaFon has revived an OTT TV project that had previously been frozen earlier this year. The news was given by Denis Nochevnov, the company’s director of new technologies and services, and quoted by AKTR and Digit.ru.

Work on the OTT project, which also involved the software company Netris, began in 2010 but was shelved this spring for unknown reasons. Industry sources believe that all three leading mobile operators will eventually be offering their subscribers OTT TV services.
