3D-scanner, e-marketing personalization technology and “Uber for private jets” honored at Seedstars Moscow

Twenty of the best startups in Russia were invited yesterday to pitch at the Moscow edition of Seedstars World, a global seed-stage startup competition for emerging markets.

Texel was named Russia’s best startup. This Moscow-based company presents its 3D-scanner technology as “a breakthrough in the fields of 3D digitization,  automatic eta processing and generation of 3D models in real time.”

Driveback, with its solution that helps e-commerce companies increase conversion by launching personalized triggered marketing campaigns on their websites, came second.

Jethunter, an Uber-like application for luxury flights and private jets, grabbed the last spot in the top 3.

The other startups invited to pitch were:

  • AVOapp, whose mobile app allows users to avoid roaming fees when using their phone abroad;
  • Cardberry, which replaces all plastic cards in your wallet by one electronic card instead;
  • Chill, which has developed a textless/ voiceless communication app for wearable deices (AppleWatch, Pebble, etc.);
  • ClevAPI, which offers a cloud-based image and video recognition service;
  • Getshoptv, whose platform lets you sell goods, send coupons, get calls from your interactive SmartTV Ad;
  • GroozGo, whose technologies enables efficient matching of parties involved in logistics process by 1 click based on several criteria such as location, time etc.
  • ilave, a one-stop-shop service for tourists and an end-to-end solution for touristic service providers;
  • Legal Space, whose online platform allows you to find a lawyer anywhere in the world;
  • MeetnGreetMe, a global marketplace for social concierge services;
  • Nusch.Me, whose application allows mobile phone users to make voice calls, video calls and send messages between for free on by combining multiple communication routes;
  • Netbell, whose cloud-based HRM-system is intended for large companies to improve staff efficiency and reduce costs;
  • PandaMoney, which has developed a gamified solution to save money;
  • PREZZTV, whose technology helps news editors immediately buy eyewitness videos with copyrights and place orders for filming;
  • Questory, whig has developed a historical quest guide to the cities of Europe, allowing users to follow the life of a famous person or the history of a place;
  • Rentmania, a community for “renting goods, meet awesome people and consume less;”
  • Stellar, whose iOS app will “take you to a spatial adventure and describe the science behind it.”

The local Ambassadors of Seedstars World, Michael Demidov and Valentin Dombrovsky, organized the event with Seedstars World’s local partners Svyaznoy.travel and Higher School of Economics (HSE), a leading Moscow university. Further support was provided by the Swiss embassy in Russia, the linguistic center “Kitaygorodskaya School,” the HSE Incubator, NUMA Moscow, Zillion as well as media partners East-West Digital News and Firrma.ru.

Continuing on its world tour of startup scenes in emerging markets, Seedstars World expanded its competition to more than 50 countries for 2015 up from the 36 countries of the 2014 edition. Its past participants have raised $20 million together, providing employment to +360 employees all around the world.

Seedstars World’s next stop is at Nairobi’s iHub, to select the best startup in Kenya.
