Russian funds Altair and GVA LaunchGurus invest in US startup 1World Online

Earlier this month 1World Online, a US startup founded in 2011 by Russian entrepreneur Alexey Fedoseev, announced the completion of an equity financing A2 round of $2.5 million.

1World provides publishers, political candidates, and brands with web and mobile-based engagement applications, content, and analytics. The company claims to have become number 1 in its sector in 2014, winning the “OnMedia 100” and “Global 100 Companies to Watch” awards.

Russian funds Altair Capital and GVA Launch Gurus contributed $300,000 and $100,000, respectively, to the round. The major part of the funds were brought by two other funds, DEFTA Partners and Nest HK, in undisclosed proportions.

Founded by Russian serial startup investor Igor Ryabenkiy, Altair Capital invests in early stage tech companies, primarily in the areas of Internet and mobile essentially in Russia, Israel and the USA. GVA Launch Gurus aims to bridge the Russian and US startup ecosystems through an accelerator program and a venture fund launched recently.  Nest HK is an early stage venture capital firm headquartered out of Hong Kong which is helping 1World with its Asian expansion strategy.
