Yandex integrates images into contextual ads on its advertising network

Yandex (NASDQ:YNDX) today has announced that clients running campaigns on the Yandex Advertising Network will be able to enhance their contextual advertisements with the addition of images.

Visuals in contextual ads instantly get the message across to the viewer and drive more potential customers to advertisers’ websites.

Integrating images into contextual ads increases their click-through rates and reduces cost-per-click prices – so advertisers can attract more clients to their sites. Visually enhanced ads also contribute to advertisers’ branding and positioning efforts.

Publishers participating in the Yandex Advertising Network can also benefit from the new advertising option, as they too will experience an increase in clicks on ads with images on their pages. In addition to potentially increasing revenues, websites featuring visually enhanced ads also look more attractive to visitors. All visuals appearing in the ads are carefully moderated to guarantee their quality. A website owner can easily opt out of showing images in the ads at any moment.

The new advertising option is available to clients in Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. Advertisements with images can already be placed on popular Yandex services including Yandex.Maps, Yandex.Weather and Yandex.Fotki, while sites in the Yandex Advertising Network are set to join the program on March 28.

The Yandex Advertising Network includes tens of thousands of websites on all kinds of subjects, with a combined audience of 55.8 million in January, 2013, according to сomScore Media Metrix.
