Israeli mobile solution provider Cellrox secures $4.7 million in Series A round led by Russia’s Runa Capital

Cellrox, a leader in Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) Multi-Persona solutions for mobile devices, has secured $4.7 million in a Series A round led by Runa Capital, a Moscow-based international venture fund.

The Israeli company’s existing investors, Previz Venture Partners, Columbia Technology Ventures, and others, have also participated in the round. The terms of the deal, which was announced yesterday, have not been disclosed.

Cellrox will use the financing to extend its collaboration with OEMs and operators for installation in tier-one enterprises around the world. Cellrox’s solutions enable employees and corporations to share “a single fully functional mobile device without compromising security, performance or user experience,” the company claims.

In a specific approach to the BYOD market, Cellrox enables co-hosting of two or more completely independent and secure virtual environments on a single Android mobile device.

“By creating an impenetrable wall between the employee’s applications and the company’s data and applications, Cellrox focuses on proactive security and application transparency all in a single swipe – one phone, two or more personas,” Cellrox explains.

The Israeli startup will take advantage of the experience of Runa Capital’s team, Runa Capital PR Director Maria Drokova emphasized in an exchange with East-West Digital News. Runa’s senior partner Sergey Beloussov, in particular, is a founder of Parallels, the world’s leader in virtualization solutions for desktops and servers.

Runa Capital is a Moscow-based technology-focused venture capital firm whose portfolio companies represent more than $10 billion in assets. It has invested in a range of tech companies across the world, including ThinkGrid (acquired by Colt), Nginx, Talkbits, Jelastic, Metabar, Travelmenu, BigTime Software, Ecwid, StopTheHacker, Capptain, B2B-Center, Infratel, Domosite.ru, Eruditor Group and LinguaLeo.
