National Computer Corporation and Kaspersky Labs maintain leadership on IT markets

With revenues exceeding 81 billion rubles (approximately $2.87 billion) in 2010, National Computer Corporation (NCC) confirmed its status as the biggest player on the Russian IT market, reports CNews.ru, an online news portal specialized in IT.

In 2009, NCC revenues amounted to 54.4 billion rubles ($1.92 billion).

Among NCC subsidiaries are OCS, a distribution company, Sistematica, a provider of IT solutions and services, and Aquarius, an assembler of PCs, servers and storage area networks.

NCC has more than 2,800 employees, 30 offices and over 300 authorized service centers in Russia as well as its own computer manufacturing facility. It has partnerships with over 8,000 computer companies and the authorized distributors of more than 100 manufacturers worldwide.

The top ten vendors distributed by NCC are HP, Acer, APC, Asus, Cisco, D-Link, EMC, Microsoft, MSI and Xerox.

Kaspersky Lab’s dramatic success in Asia

Meanwhile, Kaspersky Lab, a global leader in Internet security, reported an impressive year-on-year revenue growth, up 38% to $538 million.

“The most successful regions in 2010 were Europe, where company revenues increased by 16% and amounted to $218 million; the USA and the countries of North and South America, which saw growth of 68% and revenues of $134 million; and Japan and the Asia-Pacific region, where the company experienced dramatic growth of 111% and revenues of $55 million,” a company spokesman said.

In the CIS, Eastern Europe, the Middle East and Africa, Kaspersky Lab revenues totaled $131 million – an increase of 35% compared to 2009.

The company, founded in 1997, has now officially become the largest software and Internet company in Russia – bigger even than Yandex, which reported revenues of $410 million in 2010, noted Quintura CEO Yakov Sadchikov on his blog.

Kaspersky Lab says it plans to become “one of the top three IT security solution providers for endpoint users in 2011.”

In January 2011, the US-based private equity fund General Atlantic acquired a 20% stake in the company.

In February, US magazine Fast Company ranked Kaspersky Lab among the world’s top 50 most innovative companies.
