First Russian company joins Linux Foundation

PingWin Software Ltd. announced on March 14 its membership in the Linux Foundation, the nonprofit consortium dedicated to Linux development. PingWin Software is the first Russian company to join the Foundation.

As part of its membership in the Linux Foundation, PingWin Software will work to strengthen its cooperation with other companies interested in open-source software and help advance the Foundation’s Open Compliance Program. The Open Compliance Program develops both tools for tracking possible license conflicts and specifications for sharing information about licenses. Another important task of PingWin Software is to develop LSB (Linux Standard Base) as a key way to ensure compatibility of products and solutions in the world of Linux.
